ABOUT

Through an unwavering sense of commitment and discipline to her sport, Kristin has enjoyed eventing success from an early age. In 2003, she was named the US Eventing Association’s Young Rider of the Year, a year in which she was the top-placing Young Rider at two CCI*** events winning the Markham Trophy Championships in both the Spring and Fall. That same year Kristin won individual silver and team gold medals at the North American Young Rider Championships. In 2004 she was awarded the Lionel Guerrand-Hermes Memorial Trophy—an annual award presented to a Young Rider, age 16–21, who best exemplifies the ideals of horsemanship and sportsmanship. And at her very first 4-star outing, Kristin made a distinct impression in the eventing world by placing 7th nationally and 12th internationally at Rolex CCI**** in 2005. Kristin built on these early successes with a long list of impressive accomplishments thanks to her competitive mounts and new prospects imported from Kedrah House in Ireland. To date, she has successfully competed at international events throughout England, Canada and the United States. She has been named to the USEF Developing Rider List twice and was named an alternate member of the US Eventing Team for the 2011 Pan American Games in Mexico. Most recently, in 2013, Kristin and Ballylaffin Bracken placed 25th at Rolex, his first CCI4*. Looking to the future Kristin hopes to help the United States win medals and be known as an eventing force to be reckoned with!

With Cavaldi recently retiring, having only Ballylaffin Bracken at the 4* level currently, I would like to develop a string of competition horses, including upper level horses and young prospects. I am looking for a special group of enthusiastic owners to get involved in the process. Maintenance fees will be tax-deductible through the American Horse Trials Foundation (a 501(c)3 non-profit organization).

Kristin Schmolze Eventing is proud to announce a special opportunity for 15 shareholders. This syndication offers ownership of proven 4* horse Ballylaffin Bracken “Rox” for only $6,000. In addition, these owners/shareholders will receive a “free” 10% share in two up and coming horses, one of which will be Kristin’s exciting young horse Ricardo Time. Shareholders will be given the opportunity to help in the selection/buying process of the second horse to be included in this unique syndicate. The eventual goal of the Ballylaffin Bracken Syndicate will be to determine which of the two young horses has the most long term potential, eventually selling the other. There will be no additional buy-in costs associated with these two prospects. A yearly maintenance fee of $4,000 (which can be made 100% tax deductible) will be paid annually by each syndicate share holder to go to expenses of all included horses. Don’t miss out on this unique chance to own three horses for the price of one at different levels of the sport! About Rox: Ballylaffin Bracken “Rox” is a 17.3 hand Irish Sport Horse gelding born in 2000 in County Tipperary, Ireland. He is Irish-bred by one of the world’s leading event and show jumping sire Ricardo Z and out of Irish Sport Horse mare Ballylaffin Florence. Ballylaffin Bracken was imported from Ireland by Kristin in 2004. Since his arrival, he has successfully competed at international competitions throughout the United States and Canada. In his very first outing in the United States, Ballylaffin Bracken won the Preliminary Division at Seneca’s Fall Horse Trial and then placed 3rd in the Young Horse Preliminary Futurity at Plantation Field. He has completed 2 CIC**s in the top 10 placing’s and recently took 5th place at the mandatory Pan Am outing in Richland Park Horse Trials in Michigan. As an Alternate Team Member for the 2011 Pan-American Games, Ballylaffin Bracken trained with Captain Mark Philips in Ocala, Florida in October of 2011. He was also awarded a 2011 USEF grant to compete at Galway Downs in California where he placed 8th.
