Lauren Billys

Rider Age: 3 years old
Home Town: Visalia, CA
Pan Am: 2011

Lauren entered the world of three-day eventing at the age of eight, where she fell in love with horses in an unconventional, organic manner. In the homely barn, Mountain View Corrals, she learned to ride with her best friends in boxer shorts, tennis shoes, and half chaps. From this beginning to now, Lauren has grown in the sport of three-day eventing from a young, horse-loving girl to a competitive force in the United States eventing community. Lauren spent 2011 preparing for and competing in the Pan American Games. It was here, in Guadalajara, Mexico, at the Pan American Games, where Lauren made her debut on the international eventing scene. This experience expanded Lauren’s understanding for what it takes to compete in against the best in the world and gave her an inner drive to represent her country in years to come. Lauren is no stranger to the USEA leaderboard where her mare, Ballingowan Ginger, was named one of the top ten mares in the country in 2011. She has received awards and recognition through Area VI for her success in California in 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013.

Her goals for her future include competing in the Central American and Caribbean Games in 2014, the Pan American Games of 2015, and the Olympic Games in 2016.
